An early 20th century French handmade child's toy in the shape of a painted timber horse attached to a wrought iron sulky. The child sits in the bucket seat and activates the pedals on the hind legs, which are linked to the back axle and the rear wheels. The child holds the reins, which turn the front wheel to the desired direction, as well as move the horse's head from side to side, when turning. Area of Rouen, Normandy, circa 1930.
