Please note: We deliberately leave upholstered items in as-found, unrestored condition. Old fabrics may be steam-cleaned and reused but most items will need recovering, if not actual reupholstery and possibly some repairs and refinishing. We outsource fabrics and upholstery work at wholesale/trade prices. These discounted prices are passed on to our clients with no added mark-up. We regularly stock single chairs, pairs of chairs and sets of four to twenty four. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MOST, BUT NOT ALL OF OUR STOCK IS IN THE SHOP, SOME IS STORED IN OUR OAKLEIGH WAREHOUSE. We have possibly the largest stock of antique chairs in Melbourne, comprising the French Louis XV, Louis XVI, Directoire and Empire styles, as well as a large assortment of rush-seat French provincial chairs. Our workshop is able to carry out any conservation work, and also oversee and help with any required fabrics, upholstery, caning and rushing work.
