A French Oak Monastery Table

A large, 19th century French Louis XIV style solid oak Monastery's refectory table, the 3.5 cm thick top with a wonderful texture from use, standing on elegant, baluster-turned oak legs joined by four stretchers, well-worn by feet. Retaining a very good and original patination throughout, the surfaces of the timbers nicely burnished. Please note the large overhangs of the top, at each table end. Area of Normandy, France, circa 1850.
