A lot 18th century French Louis XVI period 'Vues d'Optique' (perspective view) prints depicting panoramas of cities, monuments and the interiors of famous constructions, each retaining their original hand water-colouring. These type of printed etchings were normally designed with a deliberately strong linear perspective, so as to be viewed through a "Zograscope", (an optical diagonal machine) which enhanced the viewer's experience. Vues d'Optique became a popular entertainment for 18th century French Salons. Area of Paris, circa 1770 to 1790.
