A set of four 18th century French Louis XVI period 'Vues d'Optique' (perspective view) prints depicting panoramas of cities, monuments and the interiors of famous constructions, each retaining their original hand water-colouring. These type of printed etchings were normally designed with a deliberately strong linear perspective, so as to be viewed through a "Zograscope", (an optical diagonal machine) which enhanced the viewer's experience. Vues d'Optique became a popular entertainment for 18th century French Salons. Area of Paris, circa 1770 to 1790.
Price is for each print, professionally framed and mounted. Please note that there are some reflections of chandeliers and lamps on the glass.
