An 18th century French provincial solid beechwood extending farmhouse table of exceptional width, the table's top and the underside beautifully bleached by its use in a French convent's laundry. The regular wetting with soap and bleach have done their work over many years, resulting in the presently pale and soft driftwood like colour. Standing on chamfered square-section legs joined by an 'H' stretcher. The underside of this table shows its early construction techniques. Area of the Lower Normandy, circa 1780.
