A French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, mahogany, gilt bronze mounted 'Buffet en Enfilade' sideboard of three drawers and three cupboard doors, of fine, Parisian elegance. Retaining its original, shaped and moulded Statuario marble top, internally fitted with the original shelves. Please note the jewellery like quality of the gilt bronze metal work, the perfect Neoclassical proportions and the elegance of the two curved, open-shelved sections on the flanks, each of them lined with the original marble inserts and fitted with the original bevelled edge mirrors. Retaining all the original working locks and keys. At the front, the top-right hand moulding bears the signature "F. Linke". François Linke (1855-1946) is regarded as one of the most important French cabinetmakers of all time. Area of Paris, circa 1890.
