A fine and large, French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, mahogany, gilt brass mounted and moulded 'Buffet Enfilade' sideboard of three drawers and three cupboard doors, of Parisian Neoclassical elegance. Retaining its original and thick, shaped and moulded Carrara marble top. Internally fitted with the original shelves. Please note the jewellery like quality of the metal work, the perfect proportions and the elegance of the two curved open shelved sections on the flanks, each lined with the original, bevelled edge mirrors. Retaining all the original locks and keys. The top-right hand moulding is etched with the signature "F. Linke". François Linke (1855-1946) is regarded as one of the most important cabinetmakers (ébénistes) of all time. Born in 1855 in the Czech Republic, Linke moved his workshop to Paris in 1875. Area of Paris, circa 1890.
