A set of four of finely carved and gilt, French Napoleon III period Louis XVI style Fauteuil armchairs, the "Chapeau de gendarme" backrests and frames decorated with haut-relief carved and gilded Neoclassical motifs including ‘continuous ribbon’ pattern mouldings, acanthus leaves and paterae. The backrests are surmounted by carved and raised acanthus motif paterae. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
