A large French chandelier of six lights, of exceptional quality wrought iron and original and well-patinated metal colour. Decorated with large and parcel-gilt tole (pressed metal) leaves. Retaining the original chain and ceiling cup. Attibuted to Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988), a renown French designer specialising in wrought iron work. Poillecart became a teacher at the "the École Nationale des Arts Decoratifs". Area of Paris, circa 1940.
