An 18th century French solid elm farmhouse table from the area of Lower Normandy, designed with typically large planks and with sturdy square-section tapering legs. The top is made from just two exceptionally thick and well-burnished planks, (taken from the same trunk), and built with early construction techniques. Please note the elegance of the book matched planks of the top and the beautiful fadedness and burnishing of the timbers. This table seats comfortably ten. Area of the Calvados, circa 1780.
