A large, 19th century terracotta statue of the famous 'Seated Cupid' that Etienne-Maurice Falconet (1716-1791), the original marble cupid made in 1757 for Madame de Pompadour. This cherub is made to the exact dimensions, in the the same pose and with the same expression as the original, but without the cherub wings of the original statue. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
