An early 19th century French Restauration period solid walnut drop-leaf side table, the rectangular top above a shallow drawer, standing on typical 'Jacob' baluster- turned legs. Jacob, (Georges Jacob, 1739–1814), was a prominent cabinetmaker of the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and his design of symmetrically turned legs were the fashion of that time. Please note the use of book-matched planks on the top. Area of Paris, circa 1820.
