A set of 4 French Provincial Ladderback Chairs

A set of four early 20th century French Provincial Louis XV style carved oak ladder-back chairs, each chair fitted with a hand-woven rushed seat. Please note the stylised haut relief carved seashell and foliate motifs of the top ladderback rungs and on the front rails. These chairs are very comfortable and sturdy everyday-use chairs. Area of Southern France, circa 1930.
