A pair of 19th century French glazed Choisy ceramic 'novelty' plates, known as "assiettes parlantes" (talking plates), with scenes taken from uniform codes in the French Army and Navy. Area of Haute Savoye, circa 1880.

Condition report: In good and original condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age. Please nte, one of the plates has an old crack on its edge.
