A pair of Louis XVI Bergere Armchairs

A pair of elegant and comfortable, finely carved and gilt French Louis XVI style Bergere "Wing-Back" Armchairs, the frames decorated with Neoclassical motifs such as 'ribbon' pattern mouldings, acanthus leaves and paterae. The gilt finish worn and nicely dulled to an old bronze colour. Paris, circa 1880. Price is for the pair.
