A French Art Deco period, gilt and patinated bronze sculpture of an elegant lady and her equally elegant Borzoi dog, standing on a stepped marble plinth. Unsigned, and attributed to Ugo Cipriani (Florence 1887-Paris 1960), who used the art pseudonym 'Uriano'. This exact sculpture by Cipriani is illustrated in the 'Dictionnaire Illustré des Sculpteurs Animaliers & Fondeurs de l’Antiquité à Nos Jours' (The Illustrated Dictionary of Animal Sculptors and Foundry Casters from Antiquity to Today), by Jean Charles Hachet. Area of Paris, circa 1930.
