A set of six 19th century French 'Lampion' glasses, also known as '14th of July' glasses, hand-blown in blue glass and showing their rudimentary manufacturing technique. These glasses were designed to hold a candle and to be placed on window sills on the Bastille Days, the 14th of July. Their wonderful character and size makes for wonderful, rustic drinking glasses. Area of Normandy, circa 1880.
