A large, 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style gilt mirror of fine quality and elegant Neoclassical proportions. The haut-relief frame is decorated with acanthus leaf and string-of-pearl mouldings, surmounted by a stepped pediment, the central 'Cartouche' crest is flanked by outsized laurel branches. The mirror frame retains its original gilt finish and the original mirror plate. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
