An exceptionally large and fine French Napoleon III period, Regence style, “Oeil de Boeuf” mirror. The finely etched frame with satin and burnished gold leaf and with a string-of-pearls moulding, surmounted by a large fretted crest decorated with a central, out-sized 'Palmette' motif, flanked by scrollwork and trellises of flowers. Retaining its original mirror plate. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
