A French Louis XVI style, bronze-patinated brass 'Bouillotte' table lamp, retaining the original three lights on faux-candles and its adjustable height 'tôle' metal lampshade. This sort of pressed metal lampshade was normally used to shade the user's eyes from direct light, when used on reading-tables and desks. The lamp's light is directed down onto the table-top by the reflective interior of the metal shade. Area of Paris, circa 1930.
