A mid 20th century French gilt wrought iron and tole-work five light Maison Jansen design 'Wheat' chandelier, decorated (in an allegory for Prosperity) as a bouquet of wheat stalks and foliage. This type of wheat light was originally designed by Salvador Dali as a coffee table base for Coco Chanel's Parisian apartment, and later adapted as ceiling and wall lights. Retaining its original chain and ceiling cup. Area of Paris, circa 1950.
