A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style gilt bronze mounted 'Gueridon' centre table, the shaped top edged with gilt bronze mouldings, the table top and rails inlaid with quarter-sawn ebony and burr elm. Standing on fluted pilaster legs decorated with Corinthian capitols and joined by a shaped 'X' stretcher. Please note the jewellery-like quality of the fine gilt bronze work, typical of the high level workmanship from a cabinet-making workshop of the Parisian 'Faubourg Saint Antoine'. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
