An early 19th century French Empire period 'Gueridon' mahogany table fitted with its original 'Gris Saint Anne' circular marble top, standing on a gadrooned pilaster, the tripod base decorated with haut-relief carved acanthus leaves and with lions' paws feet. Retaining the original caster wheels. Please note the crispness of the carvings and the wonderful way that light plays on these, and also and on the raised, outboard-turned, edges of the marble top. Area of Paris, circa 1810.
