An early 19th century French Empire period 'Gueridon' table fitted with its original 'Gris Saint Anne' circular marble top, standing on a gadrooned mahogany pilaster and tripod base, decorated with carved haut-relief stylised acanthus leaves and with lions' paws feet. Retaining the original brass caster wheels. Please note the crispness of the carvings and the wonderful way that light plays on these and on the outboard-turned edges of the marble top. Area of Paris, circa 1810.
