A set of six French cut crystal Champagne 'coupe' glasses, the bowls very luminous and decorated with delicate waterwheel cut motifs, above baluster-turned stems and plinths. The undersides of the plinths with the pincer marks left by the glass maker. As opposed to drinking from Champagne flutes, the coupes (supposedly modelled on Marie Antoinette's anatomy) offer up Champagne bubbles to tickle one's nose. Area of Paris, circa 1900.
