A Normandy Buffet Vitré

A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XV style, solid pine Buffet Vitré', a glazed buffet-bookcase, the timbers nicely-burnished and with the original patina, retaining the original internal shelving. Fitted with an elegant and large 'Chapeau de Gendarme' pediment, the façade is decorated with haut relief scrollwork and circular mouldings typical of the French Pays de Caux region. Area of Pays de Caux (Upper Normandy), circa 1860.
