A fine 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style gilt pastille work mantle mirror retaining the original mirror plate, the gilt finish with a rich gilt patina. The gilding on the frame showing the overlapping of gold leaf done by the original gilder, the wonderful pediment decorated with a 'Cartouche' centre, typically (for the Romantic period), flanked by cherubs holding foliate and floral trellises. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
