A French Regence style 'os-de-mouton' solid walnut tabouret stool of excellent proportions, the upholstered seat flanked by carved and shaped, raised sides. Decorated with stylised haut-relief foliate motifs, standing on elegantly shaped legs. In France, this type of stool which allows one to sit at either end, was typically used in a change room or in a bathroom setting. Area of Paris, circa 1900.
