A large, horizontally-hung vintage French Maison Jansen design 'eglomisé' mirror, fitted into a simple gilt frame, the surface of the mirror with fine, hand-painted gilded foliate scrollwork and with whimsical trellises of foliate motifs. With the eglomise technique, the patterns on this mirror were painted and gilded onto the rear of the glass, prior to the mirror's silvering. Area of Paris, circa 1960.
