A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XIV style, carved, fretted and 23K gilded with contrasting burnished and satin gilt, retaining its original bevelled mirror plate. The well-carved and fretted frame is harmoniously decorated with Baroque volutes, stylised foliate and shell motifs and is surmounted by a outsized pediment. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
