A French Louis XVI Double Bed

A fine, late 19th century French Louis XVI style carved solid 'plum pudding' mahogany bed, the bed head and footer decorated with fine gilt brass mounts including paterae, fasces, sting-of-pearl mouldings and foliate scrolls. Area of Paris, circa 1880. This bed can fit a Queen size mattress (of 152 cm width) if the entire width of the bed (of 150 cm is used). If required, our workshop can adjust the length of the side rails and fit the bed with a slatted timber base.
