A set of six 19th century French 'Longchamp' majolica oyster plates, each oyster plate designed to hold six oysters or scallops, plus a slice of lemon in the centre. Hand painted in natural colours and decorated in the shape of oyster shells lying on a bed of woven wicker. The undersides with the "Longchamp and Terre de Feu" hallmarks, stamped on the glaze. Area of Cote d'Or, France, circa 1890.
