An early 19th century French Louis Philippe period 'Bureau-en-Abattant' fall-front desk, the book-matched walnut with a wonderful, soft patina. The birdseye maple interior is fitted with drawers and with a pigeon holes. Retaining the original 'Gris St Anne' marble top and the original furniture hardware including locks, key and drawer escutcheons. Please note, the interior has two secret compartments that open with loaded spring mechanisms. Area of Paris, circa 1830.

Condition report: Complete and in original, unrestored condition. In some of the photos, the right-hand foot is in one of the drawers. Please feel free to enquire regarding any restoration work which may be required.
