An elegant French Louis XVI style 'bureau plat' desk decorated with gilt brass mouldings, escutcheons and mounts which beautifully offset the solid mahogany and ebonised timbers. Fitted with the original, embossed and gilt-edged leather, this desk is decorated on both sides and can sit facing a room. There is ample leg-room under the drawers. Area of Paris, circa 1950.
