An elegant French Louis XV style book-matched walnut 'Bureau Plat' desk decorated with fine Parisian-quality gilt brass handles, escutcheons and mounts, the top with all-round gilt edge brass mouldings and fitted with its original embossed and gilt-edged calf leather. Please note the excellent proportions and the high quality of workmanship. There is ample leg-room under the top. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
