An early 20th century French green Majolica platter in the shape of a woven basket designed to hold fruit, the two carrying handles in the shape of bunches of grapes. These platters represent highly skilled pottery, considering that they were double-fired and that the second firing compounded the risk of breakages. Area of Uzès, Southern France, circa 1930.
