An 18th century French Louis XVI period, solid mahogany and gilt brass mounted commode of five drawers, of Neoclassical elegance. Retaining its original, shaped and moulded 'Gris St. Anne' marble top and the original, nicely-faded and luminous mahogany patination which is beautifully offset by the original gilt brass mouldings, handles and escutcheons. Area of Paris, circa 1780.
