A French Regence Buffet

An early 18th century French Regence period, solid oak two door, single drawer buffet of simple and formal design. The cupboard doors opening to reveal an interior fitted with a sturdy shelf. Retaining an excellent, original colour, with very good, Classical proportions and retaining the original fretted steel escutcheons,  and showing its early construction techniques with adze and bow-saw cut marks. Area of Isle de France (Greater Paris), circa 1720.
