An early 19th century French Directoire period solid cherrywood four door, four drawer Buffet d'Enfilade, decorated with finely inlaid ebony stringing in geometric patterns, retaining its original, moulded-edge gery and white veined Breche marble top. Standing on tapering, square section legs with gilt brass finials. The solid timbers are well-burnished and retain a wonderful, pale patina. The rear showing the early construction bow-saw marks. Area of Isle de France (Greater Paris) circa 1810.
