A pair of 19th century French, Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, carved, turned and painted 'Corbeille' armchairs, the wraparound backs and rails decorated with fine haut-relief carved 'running-ribbon' mouldings. Please note the quality and the crispness of the hand-carved decorations and the soft patina of the painted finish. Freshly upholstered with Pierre Frey fabric, with double-piping, and fitted with a double-sided, down feather cushion. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
