A French ‘Bergere en Gondole’ Armchair

An early 20th century French Louis XV style “Bergere en Gondole” tub armchair, the shaped, carved and painted frame decorated with haut-relief mouldings and with stylised foliate motifs, retaining a nicely worn finish. Upholstered in a period floral brocade fabric with a separate, overstuffed cushion for extra comfort. Area of Paris, circa 1930.

Condition report: In good, as found condition. The fabric is in generally good, worn condition. This armchairs may need steam cleaning or re-covering.
Dimensions: Width 68 cm, depth 87 cm, height of backrest 78 cm, height of seat 40 cm.
