A pair of 19th century French Louis XV style ‘Corbeille’ armchairs, the painted and parcel gilded frames decorated in the Rocaille style, with haut-relief carved, stylised rock, foliate and seashell motifs. The curved backs are fitted with finely woven rattan cane, the seats with flat squab cushions. The original finish is nicely faded and worn. Very comfortable to sit on. Area of Paris, circa 1900.
