An early 19th century French Empire period (Napoleon 1st), lit-en-bateau day bed, the frame flanked by solid timber pilasters fitted with very cast, chased and gilt bronze Egyptian Campaign capitols and 'feet' plinths. The bed is painted in a chalky Trian grey milk paint colour. Please note, this bed comes apart completely. Area of Paris, circa 1810.
