A large and fine, 19th century French Louis XVI style, carved and painted three-door mirrored Armoire, the central door fitted with a bevelled edge mirror. The pediment is decorated with an out-sized wreath of roses, the stepped-front façade with turned and fluted pilasters, haut-relief carved paterae, dentil mouldings, and wonderful carved timber swags across the mirror front. The lateral doors decorated with haut relief carved panels depicting musical instruments, an allegory for Harmony. Internally, this armoire is fitted with its original, adjustable-height shelves. This armoire is designed to be disassembled and reassembled, for ease of transport. Please note the crispness of the hand-carved haut relief decorations. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
