A large, fine and elegant, early 19th century French Charles X period, solid oak Armoire of wonderfully simple and Classical proportions, the blond oak facade decorated with finely inlaid ebony stringing and with ebony escutcheons. Internally fitted with shelves, and retaining its original luminous patination. Please note the design, which is a simplified follow-on from the previous Napoleonic Empire style, and is a precursor of the later German Biedermeier style. Area of Paris, circa 1820.
