A pair of early 18th century French Regence period 'Fauteuils à la Reine' solid walnut armchairs of good quality and of Classical proportions, the tall backrests, rails and legs are decorated with bas and haut relief carved foliate and seashell motifs. These armchairs, designed with sweeping arms and with broad and deep seats are made for comfort. Please note the high quality of the carved decorations. Retaining the original bronze-like walnut patination. Area of Paris, circa 1720.
