A French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style Fauteuil armchair, the frame decorated with finely carved haut-relief Neoclassical motifs including ‘string-of-pearls’ and 'acanthus leaf' pattern mouldings, fluting and paterae. The top rail of the large medallion-backrest with a carved Medici urn motif. Please note the exquisite quality of the hand-carved decorations. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
