An exceptionally fine, carved and gilt 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style 'Fauteuil en Cabriolet' armchair. The frame decorated with haut-relief carved and gilded Neoclassical motifs such as ‘continuous-ribbon’ pattern mouldings, acanthus leaves and paterae. The Medallion backrest decorated with a carved knotted bows and roses motifs. Area of Paris, circa 1860.

Condition report: In good and original condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age. The original gilt finish requiring cleaning and small touch-ups. Requiring to be re-covered.
Dimensions: Width 62 cm, depth 60 cm, overall height 96 cm.
