A pair of 19th century French Louis XIV style, Napoleon III period 'throne' armchairs, the tall and fretted backs, and front rails decorated haut relief carved 'C' and 'S' scrolls and foliate motifs, each of the legs baluster-turned. Please note the excellent height of the backrests, and the elegance of the wonderfully splayed armrests. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
