A French Regence Armchair

A large 19th century French Regence style, carved solid walnut armchair decorated with the typical broad back rest and sweeping arm rests, standing on "Os de Mouton legs" joined by a shaped 'H' stretcher base. Retaining its original and nicely faded tapestry fabric edged with bronze studs. Please note: this armchair's seat is tall enough for a person to sit on it at a desk, or a table. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
