A fine 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, carved solid walnut Duchesse Brisée, a typical bedroom piece designed for curling up into comfortably. Composed of two parts, including a 'Bergere' (tub) armchair and a separate stool, shaped to accommodate the front of the Bergere armchair. Fitted with separate plush seat cushions for extra comfort. Area of Paris, circa 1870.

Condition report: Complete, in good and original, unrestored condition. Retaining an old velvet stripe upholstery, in usable condition. Please feel free to ask for a restoration quote from our workshop.
