A set of Provencale "Etagere" Plate Shelves

An early 20th centuryset of French Provincial Louis XV style "etagere" shelves, decorated with typical Provençale haut-relief carved and fretted foliate motifs, and surmounted by finely turned baluster finials. These sort of etageres could be hung, but were usually placed on top of a buffet or chest of drawers to display decorative plates and precious knick-knacks. Area of Southern France, circa 1930.
